This project was an effort to innovate and create products in the village of Umedhpura-Block printing and Dabu, in Jawad district, M.P, and market them globally.
The emphasis was on understanding the working and tradition of the cluster and introducing a new dimension to their craft using their existing resources and techniques.
The guidelines and parameters for the designs were derived from the tradition and craft itself- the existing visual vocabulory, technical possibilities and existing skills.
The project was a part of my graduation project at Gaatha handicrafts, Ahmedabad.
